ARTICLE THIRTEEN
 
300.270           AMENDMENTS
 
Amendments or supplements to this Ordinance may be adopted from time to time in the same manner as provided by the Township Rural Zoning Act for the enactment of the original ordinance.

300.271           Initiation and amendment procedure.
 
Sec. 13.01. Amendments to this Ordinance originate either with the Town­ship Board or the Township Planning Commission. In either case, after prelim­inary approval by the Township Board, such proposed amendment shall be transmitted to the Township Planning Commission and it shall be the duty of said Board to forthwith cause publication of a notice in a newspaper of general circulation in the Township, that on a date set, and at a time and place named, the Township Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing upon proposed amendment, at which time it shall be the privilege of any interested person to appear and be heard upon the proposal. Such publication shall be made twice in the same newspaper, the first time at least twenty (20) days but not more than thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled meeting, and the second publication not more than eight (8) days prior to said scheduled meeting. Within five (5) days following such public meeting it shall be the duty of the Township Planning Commission to transmit such proposed amendment to this Ordinance to the Township Clerk with the written recommendation that the same pass or not pass, as the case may be. The Township Board shall thereupon consider such proposed amendment at its next regular meeting and the question shall be upon the passage of the proposed amendment.
